Renault has recently awarded Magna with new production transmission business, which will help meet market demand in Europe and South America. Magna is proud to supply Renault with our DCTeco*, our latest, innovative, 6-speed dual-clutch transmission solution for low-torque applications.
“With very compact design and lowest complexity, DCTeco plays a significant role in providing the best-in-class efficiency and CO2 benefits for conventional vehicles, which is a perfect match to the needs of Renault.“
— President of Magna Powertrain, Tom Rucker
The transmissions will be supplied from MPJ - Magna PT Powertrain (Jiangxi), Magna’s joint venture with JMCG (Jiangling Motors Group) in Nanchang, China, with production to be started in 2024. This significant award occurred because of excellent global teamwork, and was a particularly successful achievement against an internal Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance transmission.
Going forward, this award will also open further opportunities with the entire global Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.
Thanks to Magna's building block strategies, DCTeco can also be scaled to HDTeco** and DHTeco, to meet the hybridization from 48V mild to plug-in hybrid.
